BENCHMARK DATA
County-level verdict benchmarks for personal injury cases
Valryn's scoring engine is grounded in real personal injury verdicts — not hypothetical averages or generic rules. Every case your firm evaluates is compared against the cases that are actually comparable: same type, same state, same county.
Hybrid semantic + keyword search
Powered by pgvector with HNSW indexing. Valryn runs both semantic (OpenAI embeddings) and keyword (CourtListener) searches in parallel for every case — surfacing the verdicts that are actually comparable, not just textually similar.
County matters more than state
A slip-and-fall verdict in Philadelphia County runs very differently from one in rural Pennsylvania. Valryn resolves the incident location down to the county and weights comparable cases accordingly — so damage estimates reflect where the case will actually be tried.
Case type-specific comparables
Medical malpractice, auto accidents, slip and fall, workplace injury, wrongful death, and more. The AI only pulls comparables from the same case type, so the numbers you see are apples to apples.
Carrier and venue profiles
Scoring modifiers encode patterns about specific insurance carriers and venues. When a new case matches a known carrier or county, the tier reflects that signal — configurable by your firm.
Constantly growing dataset
New verdicts are indexed continuously. As more cases flow through the platform, your firm benefits from broader comparables without any additional setup.
